MCMC, I agree with you BUT the restaurant shouldn’t condone eating challenges at such a young age, either. I think it’s just tempting and sending the wrong message to our youth.

To be honest I think you’re being naive blaming the restaurant for this. I saw that wall, and yes it’s mostly young kids but I have some questions for you;

A) How did they get to the restaurant?
B) Who paid for their meal?

The answer to both is ‘their parents’. The restaurant provides a service you can choose to use, they didn’t force these kids to go to their restaurant nor choose the largest burger while they are there.

I’m pretty sure those japs you ate are the ones one may find at many places all over courtesy of Sysco. After working in a kitchen and seeing how many appetizers/snacks come from the freezer and take a dip in the frier in route to one’s table, I resolved to take a permanent pass on anything even resembling fried jalapenos, fried potato skins, fried cheese sticks and whatever else I’ve seen come from Sysco. The quality sucks and they are probably full of low quality ingredients and preservatives. Combine that with possible poor cooking effort and you have an item that isn’t worth 1 dollar, much less the 5.95 most places charge.

Have you had Mason’s brunch. Definitely best in town. I agree that 225′s list sucks though. I don’t understand why a local magazine is including national chains. Those places have nothing to do with BR locally, and no one is looking for a recommendation to a place they have in any city.

Also.. Juban’s is a freaking joke for fine dining on 225′s part. Juban’s was cutting edge when it opened, what? 20 years ago? But instead of changing with time, they continued to do the same things. Their menu has changed very little if at all, and it’s nothing special. Maison Lacour is an outstanding restaurant, and depending on what you consider fine dining, Stroube’s, Gino’s, Ruffino’s, and Mansur’s are all much better than Juban’s.
